Owners.com entered the real estate industry in 2016 hoping to do to residential home buying what Uber did to taxis, Expedia to travel and Airbnb to hospitality.
We knew we needed to quickly differentiate Owners.com from traditional real estate brokers (REMAX, Century 21, Caldwell Banker) as well as the newer online services (Zillow, Realtor.com and Redfin).
So we targeted self-directed homebuyers. People who were savvy adaptors of personal technology and more likely to take charge of their home search with little or no help. And we focused our launch on 15 of the hottest markets.
Our idea was simple – “Get There First.”
It played to the emotional mindset of the day’s homebuyers who knew their dream home was out there. Somewhere. They just had to “get it before someone else does.”
